For the few of you who don't
know who Lisa Dixon is, I'll catch you up to speed. You ready!?!?! O.K. ,
I met Lisa through her boyfriend , none other than, Jason Hall. In case
you've been in a cave and you don't know who Jason Hall is. . . . Jace is
the CEO of Monolith. With the LithTech / LithTech2 engine being as hot as
it is right now, and the engine licensing taking off like a rocket. . . I
turned my attention to LOVELY Lisa and pestered her into letting me be her
official stalker!!!
I will be following Lisa and
her progress over the next 4-5 weeks leading up to this competition and
see just what it takes to be a Professional Level Fitness Athlete!! We
will start off by letting you get to know a little more about Lisa with a
few background type questions illustrated with great photos of Lisa.
Everyone knows that I pride
myself on the fact that I get some "EXCLUSIVE" info in my
interviews, and Lisa is no exception!! At the conclusion of this 5 weeks
we will follow Lisa through her competition and have photos and video for
your viewing enjoyment. And we will cover some of the most
"exclusive" stuff ever . . . . . . .
1.) Who are you. . . . and we would
know you from. . . . .
My name is Lisa
Dixon, and I am currently known to the gaming community as "Jason
Hall's girlfriend." You may also know me from competing
in the Fitness America pageant in 1998, or from competing in the
"USA's" (a national competition for Fitness) in 1999. Both
events were covered in the media. Generally though, I'm fairly low
profile, but hopefully after this year's competitions, I won't
be for long!

2.) Educational background
I was born and have
lived most of my life in Australia so most of my schooling has been from
there, however I did do a little here (1st grade
through 5th). The reason for my schooling stint in America is due to my
Dad. My Dad is American and my Mum is Australian.
I went to James
Cook University where I studied Nursing for the first year (which I
quickly decided was not for me) then changed to
Biomedical Science.
3.)How long have you been a
"Competitive Fitness Model"??
Well, I have done
Fitness for 2yrs now. Before that I used to compete in Sports Aerobics. I
have also been on the North QLD Cowboys
(an Australian rugby league team) cheerleading team in which I used to do
promotions for. Some promotions were aired all
over the world. This year, I'm looking to win enough competitions
turn "Pro" and then start appearing in widely distributed
fitness magazines. We'll see how that goes. So far, it seems
that I'm off to a good start, as I've been establishing some great
relationships with people and companies like MaxMuscle (who
have a magazine) and IronMan Magazine. It's a long and tough process to
make a name for yourself in the fitness industry, but I'm excited about
pursuing my dreams and I'm very focused on accomplishing my goals.
The gaming
community has intrigued me though. I
really think that there are a lot of cool and intelligent people making
and playing games. The game industry is really different than the fitness
industry. In gaming, people seem to be a little more relaxed. Maybe it's
because the whole game industry isn't on super-restrictive diets!!!;)I
play games rather frequently, and I love the competitive nature of the
games I see on the PC. Deathmatching
looks fun. I was into Doom for a while, but my competitions cut into my
game playing time. Perhaps I'll get back into it after I get my "pro
card" in fitness. Are there any good female players out there? I'd
hate to be the only one! Just kidding! I'm sure there
are plenty of good female players out there! Gaming isn't just for guys!
4.)Does that "wedgy" hurt from
those posing outfits??
Actually when I
first wore one of those things I thought it felt terrible, but I soon got
used to it and now all I wear are the "wedgy" type suits and
underwear! I find that it makes me feel
more sensual and most of the time I wear clothing that would show
underwear lines (if I didn't wear a g-string), so "wedgies" are
it for me! I'll be sure to send you some appropriate pics soon!
(**interviewers note.
. . . we happened to grab a few "wedgy" pics while Lisa wasn't
looking. . **)
5.) Over the next few
weeks we will follow your training and routine. . . . tell me how a
typical day STARTS when you are training??
A typical day
starts at 4:30am when my alarm makes
its dreaded noise. I will generally hit it
a few times for a few extra winks (this really
annoys Jason!) and then get up and leave
for my first cardio session. Right now that
consists of an hour of running outside in the
dark (it seems to go faster in the dark).
I will
then eat my extremely bland breakfast - 6
egg whites and a 1/2 a cup of oatmeal. I generally
train a few clients at the gym right after
this time (I am a personal trainer). Then I
will make my way home to hop back in bed!

Of
course Jason is still where I left him except by
the time I get home none of the sheets will
be left on the bed and his 260 pound muscular
body will be taking up the entire California
king size bed leaving barely any room
for me! (**interviewers
note. . . umm, can we not talk about Jason's nekkid body anymore??**)
When I get up I eat
again, (I eat every 3hrs, six times a
day) this time cod and green beans.
Then I will make my way back to the gym
to practice my routine for the competition (a
routine consists of dance moves, strength moves,
flexibility moves, and gymnastic-type moves
all set to a 2 minute song), practice my
posing, weight train and do another 40min of
cardio. This whole process usually lasts about
4hours, and I really burn a lot of calories.
After this I reward myself by tanning (a
process which is not optional in the fitness industry,
you must have a tan on stage or you will
be washed out by the bright lights) .

I have more clients
to train at night and then I do at
least one more 40 min session of cardio.
Finally I get to go home! I check my email,
and phone messages then play Dreamcast
or Chess on Microsoft's Internet Gaming
Zone while waiting for Jason to get home
by 11pm so he can watch Star Trek:Voyager with me. After this it is time
for bed and to start the whole
process again the next day.
Right now I'm in a
"get the bodyfat down" mode.
So I'm very carefully watching what I eat
and doing tons of cardio. I'm also trimming
down some of my muscle mass in this
process. It is pretty tricky to come in just right
for a show (which is around 130 pounds at
6 1/2% bodyfat at my height). In order to do
that you have to really build yourself up over
that ideal, and then slowly diet down to those
proportions. When you diet, you invariably
lose muscle during that process, so you
need to make sure that you have enough muscle
available when you begin your diet. Otherwise
you will diet down to a certain low bodyfat
percentage and have basically no body
at all! (You'll look like a rail!)! You'd
be surprised to see how high the bodyfat
is on an average woman of 5'6" who seems
to look "normal" and weighs 135 pounds.
Even though she doesn't look fat, her bodyfat
percentage is probably somewhere between
21-28%!!! (which is considered normal
for a healthy American woman) So if she
weighs 135 pounds and then diets down to
a 6 or 7% bodyfat she would only weigh 90 or
so pounds. Definitely not good if you are trying
to win a fitness competition!!! So,
I'm definitely in the tough part of contest preparation.

Only 4 more weeks to go!
Thanks Lisa, and we'll
see you again next week with more cool photo's and lots more info!!!
For those of you wondering, I follow a CONDENSED version of Lisa's routine
myself:
I will generally
hit the snooze button a few times for
a few extra winks
Hop back in bed with
Jason
I eat every
3hrs, six times a day
I reward myself
I check my
email, and phone messages then play Dreamcast
After this it is
time for bed and to start the whole
process again the next day
